A new prepaid MasterCard card was recently introduced by EntroPay, the first provider of virtual prepaid cards in Europe. The company announced that it launched its prepaid plastic card, EntroPay Plastic MasterCard in addition to already existing virtual card. This new offering makes EntroPay one of the first payment solutions that is internet-based but can also be used at any point-of-sale or ATM around the world that accepts MasterCard.

China Unicom and Yucheng Transportation Card Co have jointly introduced an NFC version of Chongqing city’s Yucheng Tong card that can be used to make payments on public transport, in cinemas and at shops and restaurants.

An NFC-based payments system called Cqpass has been commercially launched in the Chinese city of Chongqing following extensive field testing. Cqpass lets consumers make payments for a wide range of goods and services using a specially developed mobile phone and has been jointly introduced by mobile operator China Unicom, Chongqing Yucheng Transportation Card, mobile phone manufacturer Guohong Telecom and Digital and smart card and SIM supplier Watchdata.

SanDisk and LG have partnered together to create a flash card that cellular providers can lock down to their service only. This new “smart card” will allow companies to provide many features and services on removable cards without worrying about piracy across phones. This opens the door for more iPhone like features on standard and smart cell phones.
